Online gambling in the US 9 Nov 2006 After the law was signed I can really imagine some of the CEO's of the major online casinos sit in a coffee shop and think to themselves - what the hell will I do will this new law. This law does not allow any online gambling activity at all. They have found the solution far way quicker than they thought. The law says you can't set online gambling games when it comes to pure gambling topics - such as slot machines - but it does not say you can't play in a regular trivia game, asking question on the next Yankees game or on the next HBO special. This route was rising in the US anyway, people like it so why not put on the top of the non online gambling sites? For the traditional online gambling - the US casinos have opened a branch in many other countries, meaning you can wager in Scotland - and the money will be eventually brought in to the United States. The branches enables the US to keep as much of the market as possible and even find new people who will not normally wager (especially now, with the bad publicity the online gambling community have in the Unites States). Some new people have discovered the new option of playing trivia instead of online gambling, and they are not 80 year old! The online gambling sites' CEOs can be proud of the quick recovery they have made. Some cut down had to be done - but the online gambling industry in the US is very well doing. |
